The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and education organization. Its programs now reach more than 165,000 security professionals around the world. SANS's Criteria for Acceptance
Category Requirement(s) for all Team Members
U.S. High School
  • Must hold a U.S. citizenship
  • Must be actively attending as a student to a U.S. High School upon submission of their last result as per the academic Challenge Rules.
  • Must be able to travel from the United States in order to claim trip (U.S. citizens abroad are eligible providing they transport themselves to the United States.)
  • If under the age of 18, must provide a completed DC3 Permission to Participate Form at time of team registration.
  • Meet all other Challenge Rules requirements.
U.S. Undergraduate
  • Must hold a U.S. citizenship
  • Must be actively attending as a student to a U.S. Undergraduate College upon submission of their last result as per the academic Challenge Rules.
  • Must be able to travel from the United States in order to claim trip (U.S. citizens abroad are eligible providing they transport themselves to the United States.)
  • If under the age of 18, must provide a completed DC3 Permission to Participate Form at time of team registration.

U.S. Graduate
  • Must hold a U.S. citizenship
