Course Description:
Presents the requirements for conducting a cyber crime investigation
through lecture, practical exercises, scenarios and case studies.
Students will learn the processes, techniques, specialized documentation,
and legal guidelines necessary to investigate a computer crime.
Objectives:
- Define cyber crimes
- Define the role of a cyber investigator
- Explain evidentiary requirements unique to technology investigations
- Discuss the different legal documentation and procedures
- Explain the need for interagency cooperation at all levels of government
- Produce a comprehensive investigative plan
