Information Technology

The Information Technology component within DC3 serves as its technical solutions arm, providing essential support to DC3's various Mission Areas. Furthermore, it extends its robust support to both the Department of War's (DoW) Intelligence and Law Enforcement communities, enabling their critical operations

  • Custom Solutions: Tailors software and systems for digital forensic examiners and cyber intrusion analysts.

  • Tool Validation: Validates commercial, government, and open-source digital forensic tools for relevance and reproducibility.

  • Technology Leadership: Proactively identifies, researches, and evaluates new technologies, techniques, and tools.

  • Standards Development: Actively participates in creating industry standards like STIX and CASE.

  • Tool Sharing: Shares internally developed tools with federal, state, and local law enforcement.

  • Repository Maintenance: Maintains the Counterintelligence Tool Repository (CITR) for both classified and unclassified tools.

CUI Tools & Validations

Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) tools are restricted to U.S. DoW, Federal law enforcement, and counterintelligence (LE/CI) for official use only.

The Counterintelligence Tool Repository (CITR)

The CITR is a warehouse of classified and unclassified tools supporting digital forensics and CI needs. The portal provides downloadable executables or instructions on how to obtain the tool from the hosting agency.
